About the role
We are looking for an Associate Attorney to join a litigation-driven practice in Colleyville, Texas, where you will take an active role in client matters and build meaningful courtroom experience. This position is ideal for a lawyer who wants direct responsibility for cases, frequent client interaction, and the chance to strengthen advocacy skills in a collaborative office setting. The work centers primarily on family law, with opportunities to contribute to criminal defense and estate planning matters as needed.
Responsibilities
- Lead client meetings, assess legal needs, and guide new matters through the intake process.
- Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery materials, and other legal documents required for active cases.
- Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and trial proceedings with a strong focus on effective courtroom advocacy.
- Oversight case progress from opening through resolution, ensuring deadlines, filings, and communications are handled accurately and on time.
- Maintain regular contact with clients to provide updates, explain legal strategy, and address case-related questions.
- Manage an individual caseload independently while coordinating with colleagues on litigation strategy and case preparation.
- Support matters involving family law and contribute to related work in criminal defense and estate planning when appropriate.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of legal practice experience.
- Active license to practice law in Texas and good standing with the state bar.
- Prior experience in litigation, including court appearances and contested proceedings.
- Familiarity with family law matters is strongly preferred.
- Ability to draft motions, pleadings, briefs, and discovery documents with accuracy and clarity.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively.
- Strong attention to detail, accountability, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced legal environment.
