Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in all aspects of their workers' compensation claims, including hearings, trials, depositions, cross-examinations, and settlements.
- Prepare and submit legal documents.
- Communicate with clients, insurance companies, medical providers, and other parties involved to advocate for the client’s rights and secure favorable outcomes.
- Oversee case management tasks by case managers and legal assistants.
- Review and analyze medical records, legal documentation, and reports to build strong cases and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain client contact and provide updates throughout the case lifecycle to build trust and ensure a high level of client satisfaction.
- Participate in settlement negotiations and represent clients in mediations when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the California State Bar and in good standing.
- Experience in workers' compensation law is preferred but not required; recent graduates with strong legal research and writing skills are encouraged to apply.
- In-depth knowledge of California workers' compensation law and procedures, is highly preferred.
- Strong case management skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and work independently.
- Proficient in legal and case management software (e.g., MerusCase) and comfortable with Apple technology.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
