Attorney At Law
About the Role
We are seeking an attorney who can provide quality legal services to our large, diverse client base. Our ideal candidate will work passionately and effectively alongside our senior partners and staff to ensure a successful outcome for clients.
Responsibilities
- Preside over paralegals and administrative assistants in connection with keeping track of time records, reviewing client billing, setting up client meetings, and completing client projects.
- Prepare legal documents for clients, such as briefs, motions, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings.
- Identify client conflicts and determine case strategies with options for resolution.
- Advise clients by weighing available options toward a successful outcome and plan a course of action.
- Conduct estate planning consultations, design and signing meetings.
- Advise clients regarding wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, health care proxies, living wills, and related planning strategies.
- Handle probate and estate administration matters.
- Conduct annual C.A.R.E. Program review meetings.
- Review and edit estate planning documents.
- Build relationships with clients and referral partners.
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff to deliver an exceptional client experience.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice in New York State and in good standing.
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in a law firm environment.
- Two or more years of experience in estate planning, elder law, probate, trust administration, or closely related practice areas.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Advanced computer skills working with legal research programs (Westlaw and Lexis).
- Public speaking, decision-making, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
- NYS Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Crisis Medicaid planning experience.
- Familiarity with Irrevocable Medicaid Asset Protection Trust planning.
- Experience in Special Needs Planning, business succession planning, business entities, asset protection planning, or estate/trust litigation.
- Public speaking, seminar, or workshop presentation experience.

Pay
Compensation: $90,000 - $95,000. Potential for bonuses based upon production.
