Attendant

Responsibilities

• Ensure appropriate number of cars are kept on location throughout shift.
• Park cars in an appropriate fashion and keep the lot clean and presentable.
• Direct incoming customers to available parking spaces.
• Count vehicles on location as needed.
• Write and issue violation warnings to tenants and visitors.
• Patrol transient and reserved parking levels on foot or in customized motor carts.
• Provide assistance to customers who have forgotten where they parked.
• Be at work every scheduled day, on time, and in uniform.
• Courteously assist customers by answering any questions they may have.
• Direct customers to the Facility Manager for further assistance.
• Control traffic at entrances and exits as needed.
• Aid in the maintenance and repair of parking equipment and perform general maintenance tasks as directed.
• Report any known accidents, violations, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager.
• Communicate debris, water, oil spills, and other issues to the garage office.
• Substitute for Valets when necessary, if authorized.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of all areas of the garage, major streets, landmarks, and freeways in the area.
• Assist the Facility Manager with other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Less than high school education or one month related experience, training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A valid state-issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record, if expected to drive a company vehicle or drive on company business.
• Availability to work special shifts, which may vary depending on location's hiring needs.
• Ability to read, comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; and present information in one-on-one situations.
• Basic mathematical skills: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing with units of American money.
• Physical demands: standing, walking, handling cash and equipment; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing; lifting up to 25 pounds; regular use of hands.
