Attendant

Responsibilities

• Ensure appropriate number of cars are kept on location throughout shift.
• Park cars in an appropriate fashion and keep the lot clean and presentable.
• Direct incoming customers to available parking spaces.
• Count vehicles on location as needed.
• Write and issue violation warnings to tenants and visitors.
• Patrol transient and reserved parking levels on foot or in customized motor carts.
• Provide assistance to customers who have forgotten where they parked their vehicle.
• Be at work every scheduled day, on time, and in uniform.
• Courteously assist customers by answering any questions they may have.
• Direct customers to the Facility Manager for further assistance.
• Control traffic at entrances and exits as needed.
• Assist in the maintenance and repair of parking equipment and perform general maintenance tasks as directed.
• Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of Company policy, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager.
• Communicate debris, water, oil spills, and other issues to the garage office.
• Substitute for Valets when necessary, if authorized.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of all areas of the garage, major streets, landmarks, and freeways in the area of the garage.
• Aid the Facility Manager with other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Less than High School education or one month related experience, training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A valid state-issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record, if expected to drive a company vehicle or drive on company business.
• Availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and/or weekends, depending on location's hiring needs.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with units of American money.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands to handle cash and equipment, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
