Athletics Operations and Facilities Coordinator - Full Time

Western Colorado University seeks a full-time Athletics Operations and Facilities Coordinator who reports to the Deputy Director of Athletics.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage athletic facilities, ensuring effective operation, scheduling, and maintenance.
  • Serve as the primary scheduler for all athletic facilities and fields, coordinating use among athletic teams, campus departments, and outside groups.
  • Support capital projects and renovations; act as the main liaison to Facility Services for daily maintenance and upkeep.
  • Manage athletic facility contracts and outside facility use, book events through Teamworks software, and handle all work order submissions and follow-ups.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders through site visits, facility tours, and consistent service before, during, and after events.
  • Lead execution of all home athletic events, overseeing event-related student workers and staff, including concessions, work-study and event crew, promotions with corporate partners, VIP hospitality, and ticketing.
  • Supervise interns and student workers across Athletics Facilities and Conference & Event Services, including leading team meetings, providing individualized supervision, managing performance evaluations and disciplinary action, and handling recruitment, training, and scheduling of student staff.
  • Onboard new athletics staff by conducting facility tours, initiating key and swipe access requests, and communicating operational procedures and expectations.
  • Assist with Conference and Event Services contracts on behalf of the Athletics Department during June and July, including participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours calls as assigned.
  • Support the Athletic Director and Athletics Department with the planning and implementation of special fundraising events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two years of experience in facility and event operations or management.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage evening and weekend responsibilities in support of athletic program needs.
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Proven effectiveness in collaborating with cross-functional teams and fostering a cooperative, team-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently while contributing to a team-based environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.
  • Two years of experience in intercollegiate athletic administration.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification; Certified First Responder status.
  • Demonstrated experience in event planning and execution, facilities oversight, and supervision of student staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

Pay

$58,000–$60,000.
