About the Role

The Associate Web Developer is a member of the Enterprise Applications Student Team. Responsibilities include team-focused project work such as creating and enhancing web-based software applications and databases through client-side programming, server-side programming, configuration, logic, database design, functional testing, and user training. Independent work involves similar tasks but on a smaller scale. The developer may oversee and maintain specific applications, developing subject matter expertise through troubleshooting, code development, and system improvements. Administrative duties include attending team and project meetings, collaborating with campus partners, and administering software and applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance web-based software applications and databases using client-side and server-side programming.
  • Design and program databases, ensuring efficient data management and retrieval.
  • Perform functional testing of applications to ensure reliability and usability.
  • Train users on software applications and provide ongoing support.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot assigned applications, developing subject matter expertise.
  • Attend team and project meetings, and collaborate with campus partners.
  • Administer and configure software and applications as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science or a related IT field, or equivalent relevant work experience (2 years) in a related field.
  • Basic experience with at least one programming language.
  • Basic experience with database design and programming.
  • Basic experience with web front-end programming (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related IT field.
  • Basic understanding of software development methodologies.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technical concepts and tools.
  • Basic knowledge of web accessibility standards and semantic HTML.
  • Experience in C# and .Net programming.
