Associate Underwriter
About the role
Amwins is looking for an Associate Underwriter to join the Amwins National Transportation Underwriting team. By providing support to our clients through servicing a high volume of accounts while giving great attention to detail, Associate Underwriters are an essential part of the success of our firm. We are looking for individuals who are eager to add their unique value to the team. While working with the industry’s leading wholesalers and surplus lines carriers, our Associate Underwriters have the opportunity to learn our company from the ground up with exciting opportunities for accelerated advancement.
Responsibilities
- Setup Submission information for new and renewal business in agency management and rating system
- Make, and follow-through with, requests for missing information from outside sources
- Rate business in UW system for Underwriters
- Maintain account logs for control of outstanding items
- Complete Bind Form, issue Policy Numbers
- Review bound account information
- Policy issuance and endorsement processing
- QA policies, proposals, and binding acknowledgements
- Monitor various reports for consistency
- Order loss control in accordance with company guidelines, review completed reports and take appropriate action, as required
- Coordinate with other department personnel where needed
- Assist in accounting procedures such as invoicing
- Answer incoming calls
- Assist in the day-to-day operations as required
