About the role

The Systems Administrator plays a crucial role within the Indiana Office of Technology, supporting various technologies and small projects to enhance service delivery to Indiana's agencies and taxpayers.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in configuring, maintaining, and supporting multiple information technology systems.
  • Implement and complete small projects as assigned.
  • Resolve technical issues through interaction with internal teams and end-users using the ticketing system.
  • Provide support for applications and software interfacing with the Indiana Office of Technology and its customers.
  • Assist with information system upgrades, including planning, testing, and documentation.
  • Contribute to hardware and software planning and budgeting recommendations for higher-level staff.
  • Maintain the production change control schedule and participate in change control processes.
  • Collaborate with IT staff to develop problem solutions and software/hardware enhancements.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Technology or related field with 1+ year of experience, or a High School Diploma/HSE diploma with 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Moderate knowledge of information technology systems and their infrastructure.
  • General knowledge of performance and tuning techniques.
  • Ability to solve problems effectively and efficiently under guidance from higher-level IT staff.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Considerable knowledge of policies, standards, procedures, and techniques.
  • Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Pay

The salary for this position traditionally starts at but may be commensurate with education and work experience. Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total compensation package.

Schedule

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours that may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
