Associate System Administrator
About the Role
We are seeking an Associate Systems Administrator to join our Information Technology team and help support the daily operation, security, and continuous improvement of NAM's technology environment. This role is ideal for an IT professional with approximately 2–4 years of experience who is looking to expand beyond traditional desktop support into enterprise systems administration and cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for hardware, operating systems, business applications, Microsoft 365, and cloud-based technologies
- Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, laptop, printer, mobile device, conferencing, and peripheral issues
- Monitor and respond to Help Desk requests while meeting established service expectations
- Provision and deprovision user accounts, permissions, security groups, and access rights
- Administer Microsoft 365 user accounts, mailbox provisioning, license management, and collaboration services
- Aid with Microsoft Entra ID administration, authentication, and identity management
- Support Active Directory administration under the direction of senior IT staff
- Perform workstation imaging, deployment, configuration, and lifecycle replacement activities
- Aid with endpoint management using Microsoft Intune and other device management platforms
- Support software deployments, operating system updates, and endpoint patch management
- Perform routine monitoring of servers, endpoints, cloud services, backups, and critical business systems
- Aid with hardware installations, office technology deployments, and infrastructure upgrades
- Support conference room technology, VoIP systems, and audiovisual equipment
- Maintain accurate IT asset inventories and equipment lifecycle documentation
- Participate in disaster recovery testing and business continuity activities
- Assist with endpoint security monitoring and vulnerability remediation activities
- Aid with multi-factor authentication administration and identity security
- Report system anomalies and assist with incident response activities when appropriate
- Utilize approved AI and automation tools to improve troubleshooting, documentation, technical research, scripting, and operational efficiency while adhering to company security and governance standards
- Aid with PowerShell scripting and automation of routine administrative tasks
- Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, standards, and knowledge base articles
- Participate in IT infrastructure projects including hardware refreshes, cloud migrations, system upgrades, cybersecurity initiatives, and technology implementations
Qualifications
- 2+ years of progressively responsible experience in IT support, desktop support, or systems administration
- Experience supporting Windows 11 desktop environments
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 user accounts, licensing, and Exchange Online
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) or Active Directory
- Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, wireless networking, and network troubleshooting
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-assisted productivity tools responsibly while maintaining sound technical judgment and compliance with organizational security and data governance standards
What We Offer
- Salary: $31.25 - $33.65 per hour (good-faith estimate)
