About the role

We're looking for an Associate Scientist, Protein Characterization on the Biotherapeutics Characterization and Formulation team to help us expand what's possible for patients with serious diseases. Reporting to the Senior Director, Research, you'll play a critical part in supporting Insmed's innovative biologics pipeline from early discovery through development candidate nomination.

Responsibilities

  • Perform protein analytical techniques to inform on optimization of formulation and process to support development candidate nomination.
  • Apply standard procedures to assess biotherapeutic stability as a function of formulation and process and facilitate tech transfer activities.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of protein biotherapeutics, with an emphasis on stability and formulation challenges.
  • Experience analyzing protein molecules by standard analytical and/or biophysical techniques.
  • Familiarity with experiment documentation using electronic lab notebook.
  • Experience working on successful teams and programs.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to multi-task with multiple projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant hands-on experience or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.

Skills

  • Experience using automated chromatography workstations (e.g., AKTA FPLCs) and employing multi-dimensional purification strategies is a plus.
  • A record of scientific publication employing the skills listed above is a plus.

Pay

$103,000.00 - $131,000.00 Annual
