About the role

We're seeking an Associate Scientist, Protein Characterization to join our Biotherapeutics Characterization and Formulation team. Reporting to the Senior Director, Research, you'll contribute to the development of biotherapeutic drug products across various therapeutic areas. Your responsibilities include supporting formulation and characterization efforts, assessing biotherapeutic stability, and facilitating tech transfer activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the formulation and characterization efforts for biotherapeutic drug product discovery and development across different therapeutic areas.
  • Perform protein analytical techniques to inform on optimization of formulation and process to support development candidate nomination.
  • Assess biotherapeutic stability as a function of formulation and process.
  • Facilitate tech transfer activities.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of protein biotherapeutics, with an emphasis on stability and formulation challenges.
  • Experience analyzing protein molecules by standard analytical and/or biophysical techniques.
  • Familiarity with experiment documentation using electronic lab notebook.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of multi-tasking with multiple projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related field with 4+ years of relevant hands-on experience.
  • Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.

Skills

  • Experience using automated chromatography workstations (e.g., AKTA FPLCs) and employing multi-dimensional purification strategies.
  • A record of scientific publication employing the skills listed above.

Pay

$103,000.00 - $131,000.00 Annual

Schedule

This role is based out of our Bridgewater, NJ office and requires full-time, in-person presence to support hands-on collaboration, access specialized equipment, and/or operational needs. Travel requirements are minimal.
