Associate Research Professor, Career Track, Cellular and Molecular Medicine/Sarver Heart Center

About the Role

The Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine (CMM) at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson (COM-T), in collaboration with the Sarver Heart Center, is seeking a dynamic individual for a non-tenure-track Associate Research Professor position. The successful candidate will establish an innovative, externally funded research program focused on cardiometabolic disease, mitochondrial metabolism, and cardiomyocyte proliferation/regeneration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead an innovative research program in cardiometabolic disease, mitochondrial metabolism, and cardiomyocyte proliferation/regeneration.
• Secure external funding to support the research program.
• Integrate research efforts with CMM's strengths in molecular basis of complex diseases, genome function, intracellular trafficking, and cardiac biology.
• Advance understanding of developmental metabolic factors, metabolic reprogramming of cardiac cells, and mitochondrial control of cardiac function to enhance repair after myocardial injury.
