New Investments

  • Researching, analyzing and evaluating a variety of markets, infrastructure sectors and investment opportunities within the Real Assets mandate
  • Undertaking complex financial modelling and testing assumptions and sensitivities to assess returns and valuation
  • Maintaining primary responsibility for valuation outputs and serving as the principal point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on modelling and valuation matters
  • Conducting detailed investment and valuation analysis to support the transaction team's assessment of prospective investments, and contributing across all due diligence and execution workstreams throughout the transaction lifecycle as required
  • Contributing to the screening, evaluation and selection of external sponsors to support commitments to high-conviction funds managed by best-in-class partners
  • Contribute to the preparation of investment memos, transaction materials and presentations, and supporting the development of investment recommendations

Investment Asset Management

  • Undertaking ongoing asset management activities across direct investments, partner-led investments and Fund investments, with the objective of maximising value and enhancing long-term returns for the Fund within a partner-led asset management framework
  • Maintaining asset valuation models and preparing analysis and supporting materials for quarterly valuation reviews and governance processes
  • Conducting analysis of historical and forecast asset performance, including scenario and sensitivity assessments to support asset management and strategic decision-making

Relevant tertiary qualifications.

3+ years of infrastructure experience from investment banking, infrastructure funds or private equity funds (buyside / sell side transaction experience preferred)

Experience with research, financial modelling and valuation principles and practices for unlisted infrastructure assets

Robust quantitative and analytical skills combined with strong judgement and critical thinking to facilitate contribution to investment analysis

Advanced use of MS Office products especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure

Pay

The compensation range for this position is $220,000 to $260,000 (this is based on full-time hours, located in New York City). The pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience and refers to the amount AustralianSuper is willing to pay at the time of posting.
