About the Role

The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of minimally-invasive gastrointestinal surgery.

This position will be housed at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Qualifications

  • M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree
  • Certified by the American Board of Surgery or eligible for such certification
  • Fellowship training in minimally-invasive surgery (preferred)
  • Robotic surgery skills (preferred)
  • Advanced endoscopic skills (welcomed)

Responsibilities

  • Clinical and didactic instruction of fellows, residents, and medical students rotating on the GI Surgery service
  • In- and out-patient clinical care of general and gastrointestinal surgery patients, with a focus on foregut and hernia realms
