About the Role

The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. This role focuses on minimally-invasive gastrointestinal surgery and will be housed at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and didactic instruction to fellows, residents, and medical students rotating on the GI Surgery service.
  • Deliver in-patient and out-patient clinical care for general and gastrointestinal surgery patients, with an emphasis on foregut and hernia conditions.

Requirements

  • M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
  • Certified by the American Board of Surgery or eligible for such certification.
  • Fellowship training in minimally-invasive surgery (preferred).
  • Robotic surgery skills (preferred).
  • Advanced endoscopic skills (welcomed).
