Associate Professor- Full-Time Faculty
Faculty position in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the Assistant Professor/Associate Professor level.
About the Role
The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine invites applications for a full-time appointment stream faculty position. The School’s mission is to improve oral health through teaching, research, and service. Pitt Dental Medicine is located on the University's main campus in Pittsburgh, contiguous with the other five health science schools, and offers opportunities to collaborate with clinicians, innovators, and investigators from around the world.
Responsibilities
- Didactic and clinical instruction of residents and dental students
- Curriculum development and implementation of program policies
- Research supervision and scholarly activities
- Service and participation in University Dental Health Services (UDHS) faculty practice
- Leadership opportunities, including serving as a graduate program director for qualified candidates
Requirements
- DDS/DMD or foreign equivalent
- Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from a CODA-accredited program
- Board certified or eligible for certification in Pediatric Dentistry
- Appropriate license for clinical practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (or ability to obtain)
- Developed area of clinical excellence
- Proven administrative experience
Qualifications
Favorable consideration will be given to candidates with:
- Leadership skills
- Additional expertise and training credentials such as dual specialty certification, MS, PhD, fellowship qualification, or other advanced degrees
