Associate, Private Credit Underwriter

About the role

The Associate Apogem Capital is recruiting for a position within the Private Credit strategy. The role is based in Chicago.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Manage complex financial modeling.
• Conduct industry research to supplement third-party reports.
• Organize, review, and present transaction due diligence.
• Identify and analyze underwriting strengths and risks.
• Support the underwriting of credit facilities, including:
• Preparation of written documents (internal underwriting memos and term sheets).
• Communication with transaction stakeholders (senior and subordinated lenders, the private equity sponsor, and the target company).
• Aid in the legal documentation and closing process.
• Proactively solve problems and manage a portfolio of accounts.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Approximately 2-3 years of relevant work experience for Associate.
• Robust analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time and workload efficiently.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Effective working relationships with teammates.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Prior cash flow lending experience preferred, but not required.

Pay & Benefits

Salary range: $125,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location.

In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
