Associate Nurse Manager, Head & Neck, Full-time
About the role
The University of Miami UHealth Hospital seeks an Associate Nurse Manager to join their Head & Neck department. This role oversees patient care, directs the healthcare team, and supports the hospital's strategic operations.
Responsibilities
- Plans, oversees, and directs patient care to meet quality, service, and safety standards.
- Directly supervises the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective clinical operations and outcomes.
- Assists management with strategic operations of the unit, conducts staff meetings, and handles other responsibilities.
- Leads and provides input on performance improvement processes.
- Analyzes, organizes, and prioritizes work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
- Oversees daily operations of the nursing unit and personnel.
- Provides direct patient care as needed per entity standards.
- Assumes 24/7 responsibility, when needed.
- Collaborates with Nurse Leaders to formulate and implement short- and long-term goals.
- Maintains awareness of patient and staff occurrences, staffing requirements, and patient acuity or complexity.
- Reports issues or concerns appropriately and keeps leadership informed.
- Develops roles and responsibilities for direct reports through talent management and development.
- Maintains productivity and flexibly meets financial targets.
- Improves employee engagement through collaboration, accountability, and recognition of great performance.
- Participates in and initiates the corrective action process when necessary.
- Demonstrates support for hospital Process Improvement (PI) philosophies and aligns departmental goals with PI initiatives.
- Works closely with leaders to develop quality improvement/PI processes and implements evidence-based best practices.
- Ensures employees are trained on internal controls, University policies, and procedures.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
- Certification and Licensing: Registered Nurse, licensed.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years relevant nursing experience.
