About the role
The Alcohol Drug Program Team Supervisor - Practitioner (SM/FT) Eng & Eng/Span Sp/Rd/Wt supervises professional, technical, and clerical staff in the Alcohol and Drug Programs department. This position requires coordination with probation, the courts, and community-based organizations that partner with drug court clients. The supervisor must have knowledge of co-occurring disorders and interact with the mental health system and the clinical coordinator of the grant.
Responsibilities
- Provides administrative supervision and clinical supervision for a team providing assessment, treatment, and rehabilitative services to individuals with serious mental illnesses and co-occurring conditions.
- Serves as the coordinator for all Drug Court Grants and oversees the daily operations of the Alcohol and Drug Program staff in Santa Maria.
- Coordinates with community alcohol and drug program service providers to plan, develop, and evaluate prevention, recovery, and treatment programs.
- Collects and analyzes demographic data to identify and assess community needs for education services related to the prevention of alcohol and drug abuse and co-occurring conditions.
- Administers county-wide or regional projects, makes recommendations to departmental leaders regarding the selection and evaluation of contractor agencies, and assists in the development and monitoring of the division and program center budgets.
- Works closely with cross-system multi-agency initiatives and promotes process improvement approaches.
Requirements
- A licensed MFT or LCSW with the State of California’s Board of Behavioral Sciences and three years of post-licensure experience, including one year of providing or coordinating alcohol or other drug abuse administrative, prevention, or treatment services.
- Possession of a master’s degree in a health, social sciences, or closely related field and three years of experience providing or coordinating alcohol or other drug abuse administrative, prevention, or treatment services.
- Possession of a bachelor’s degree in health, social sciences, or closely related field and four years of experience providing or coordinating alcohol or other drug abuse administrative, prevention, or treatment services.
- A combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to one of the employment standards listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of program design, administration, and evaluation; techniques for negotiating prevention and treatment contracts; current issues, trends, and best practice treatment/prevention methods for alcohol and drug addiction and abuse as well as recovery and co-occurring conditions treatment services; strategies for responding to alcohol and other drug problems at the individual, family and societal levels; familiarity with community environmental prevention strategies that include community development, organizing, and policy promotion; principles of budget preparation and administration; program evaluation methods; basic statistics and statistical analysis; social, cultural, psychological, and economic factors related to alcohol or other drug addiction and abuse; community resources typically available for alcohol and other drug abuse prevention and treatment; and standard English usage and grammar.
- Ability to learn and apply principles and practices of supervision and budget administration; supervise subordinate staff in a positive and team-oriented manner; gather, and analyze data, identify trends, draw conclusions and make recommendations; manage complex departmental projects; organize, prioritize, delegate, and coordinate tasks; exercise objectivity and independent judgment; learn to access and generate reports from automated systems; utilize desktop computer applications such as word processing in a Windows environment; prepare professional written and oral reports; establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues, contractors, clients and community groups; communicate clearly and effectively in a variety of situations including public forums; and work within a collaborative environment.

- Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System is preferred.

$83,217.65 - $100,121.23 Annually
