Associate Lawyer

About the role

This is a full-time, partial work-from-home position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a diverse caseload from inception through pre-trial, trial, and appeal when necessary ensuring each client receives effective legal representation
  • Draft law and motion from initial complaints through all pre-trial motions and oppositions to trial and post-verdict pleadings
  • Prepare and respond to discovery
  • Take and defend depositions, including percipient witnesses and expert depositions
  • Conduct pre-filing investigation and research
  • Evaluate/Review potential cases, interview clients and witnesses
  • Make court appearances, mostly in state court
  • Support the firm’s marketing initiatives, including the creation of content
  • Occasional travel

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-4 years of civil litigation experience with substantial law and motion experience
  • Licensed California attorney
  • Familiar with California state and federal court procedure and substantive law
  • Experience with bad faith and personal injury cases (preferred but not required)
  • Deposition and some trial experience (preferred but not required)
  • Bilingual is a plus (preferred but not required)
  • Class Action experience (preferred but not required)

Compensation

$130,000 - $150,000/year
