Roles And Responsibilities
- Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients to assess their legal needs and offer appropriate legal guidance.
- Handle all aspects of family law cases, from client sign up through resolution, including mediation and trial.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents such as petitions, motions, agreements and court orders.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients, ensuring they are informed of case progress and next steps.
- Represent clients in court hearings and trials, ensuring the client's best interests are presented and protected.
- Attend mediation sessions and settlement conferences to negotiate favorable outcomes for clients.
- Prepare and submit all court required documents on time and in compliance with legal requirements.
- Manage Legal cases related to divorce, child custody, child support spouse support property division prenuptial agreements and other family law matters.
- Work closely with paralegals and legal assistants to delegate tasks, review drafts and coordinate case work.
- Assist with estate planning and probate cases when necessary, providing legal advice on will trust and asset management (preferred but not required).
Skills And Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 - 5 years of family law experience.
- Experience with estate planning and probate (preferred but not required).
- Licensed to practice law in Washington.
- Strong communication and client management skills.
- Ability to work independently and remotely, with occasional travel for court appearances.
- Litigation experience is required.
