Associate Laboratory Assistant
About the role
The Laboratory Technician works under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor, and in their absence under the direction of the Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), to provide technical, clerical, and patient care support services. Service is provided to patients of all age groups: premature infants, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young, middle, and older adults. The role operates within the established policies and procedures of the Laboratory and the Organization.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and skin puncture for specimen collection.
- Process and distribute specimens.
- Operate and maintain automated instrumentation (excluding resulting of laboratory data).
- Conduct supply inventories, stock supplies, and maintain work areas and equipment.
- Provide service in a safe and professional manner.
Requirements
- California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I License upon hire, or California Certified Phlebotomy Technician II License upon hire.
- Education to meet certification, license, or registration requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Phlebotomy National Certification upon hire.
- 3 months of experience as a Laboratory Technician in a hospital-based clinical laboratory.
- 6 months of experience as a phlebotomist.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.78 per hour. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
Schedule
Full time, Day shift.
