Associate Laboratory Assistant

About the role

The Lab Aide I is responsible for completing and maintaining competency in phlebotomy, specimen processing, and basic client service tasks. Duties include obtaining blood samples, ensuring proper specimen handling, and performing basic client service tasks.

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood samples from patients in a timely manner while following proper collection policy.
• Ensure appropriate labeling of specimens and handle them according to policy.
• Perform basic client service tasks such as requisition entry, checks, and filing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Phlebotomy certificate upon hire.
• Less than one year experience as a phlebotomist and/or completion of a Phlebotomy program.

Qualifications

Completion of basic client service competency is required after 1 year of starting in this position.
