Associate EMS Dispatcher - Located in St Louis, MO

About the role

The AMR St. Louis Emergency Communications Center is a large private EMD Communications Center serving multiple states in the Midwest. The Emergency Medical Dispatcher position involves processing requests for ambulance assistance and providing pre-arrival instructions.

Responsibilities

• Understands and implements EMD concepts as published in Principles of Emergency Medical Dispatch
• Alocates EMS resources based on approved protocols and established processes
• Maintains expertise in CAD system for complete and accurate data entry
• Participates in continuing education as outlined by the department
• Functions effectively in potentially stressful environments
• Communicates effectively with patients, medical personnel, co-workers, and clients
• Maintains high-level customer service and prioritizes tasks
• Utilizes maps and understands basic computer applications
• Works weekends and holidays on a rotation

Requirements

• At least 18 years old
• Proof of HS diploma or GED
• Successfully completes computer-aided pre-interview test
• Clear communication via telephone and radio
• Ability to listen, talk, and type simultaneously
