About the role

The Associate Director, Patient Recruitment is a strategic and operational leader responsible for developing and executing innovative, data-driven patient recruitment and retention strategies across Beeline Medicines' clinical trial portfolio in immunology and inflammation. This role is critical to achieving enrollment targets, maintaining trial timelines, and ensuring that patient populations are representative and accessible.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive patient recruitment and retention strategies for all active and planned clinical trials in the I&I portfolio, including disease awareness campaigns, patient advocacy partnerships, and digital outreach initiatives.
  • Lead the end-to-end planning and implementation of patient recruitment programs, including pre-enrollment activities, screening optimization, and enrollment acceleration tactics.
  • Build and manage relationships with patient advocacy organizations, disease foundations, and community networks within the lupus and autoimmune disease space to support recruitment pipeline development.
  • Oversee recruitment vendor selection, contracting, and performance management, including digital media agencies, patient registries, social media recruitment partners, and call center vendors.
  • Establish and monitor enrollment KPIs and recruitment dashboards; provide regular progress reporting to Clinical Operations leadership and study teams and implement course corrections as needed.
  • Partner with Site Start Up and Study Optimization teams to evaluate site-level enrollment performance, identify underperforming sites, and implement site-specific recruitment support plans.
  • Lead the development and regulatory review of patient-facing recruitment materials, including IRB/IEC-approved digital ads, direct-to-patient mailers, screener tools, and educational content.
  • Integrate inclusive principles into patient recruitment planning to ensure clinical trial populations reflect the demographics of the patient community, particularly within lupus.
  • Collaborate with data analytics and technology teams to leverage real-world data (RWD), claims data, and patient registries for site selection and feasibility optimization.
  • Stay current on evolving recruitment technologies, regulatory guidance, and best practices in patient-centered trial design to continuously advance the company's enrollment capabilities.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in life sciences, public health, marketing, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of clinical operations or patient recruitment experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and executing multi-channel patient recruitment campaigns, including digital advertising, social media, patient registries, and site-based tactics.
  • Experience in autoimmune disease or immunology therapeutic areas is highly desirable, with a strong preference for prior lupus or rheumatology recruitment experience.
  • Proven ability to manage external recruitment vendors and agencies, including contract negotiation, SOW development, and performance oversight.
  • Strong data literacy; experience using enrollment analytics, CTMS reporting, and recruitment dashboards to monitor and optimize trial performance.
  • Familiarity with IRB/IEC review processes for patient-facing materials and digital recruitment content, including FDA guidance on direct-to-patient advertising.
  • Proven track record of influencing without authority across organizational boundaries, driving alignment among senior stakeholders, and building consensus on complex scientific or operational priorities.
  • Experience navigating organizational ambiguity and change; capable of defining structure, establishing priorities, and scaling functional capabilities in alignment with evolving corporate strategy.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to translate complex scientific, regulatory, or operational content for diverse audiences, including executive leadership, clinical teams, and external partners.
  • Adept at facilitating productive dialogue in high-stakes meetings, negotiations, and multi-party collaborations; balances clarity, diplomacy, and scientific precision.

Qualifications

  • Position may require domestic and international travel up to 10%+ of time or more including overnight stay driven by business need; position must be able to work eastern time zone.

Pay

The expected salary range for this position varies by location and will be communicated based on the country or region in which the selected candidate is hired. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors permitted by applicable local law. A discretionary annual bonus and long-term incentive award (e.g., equity) may be available based on individual and Company performance.
