About the role
The Associate Director of Recruiting serves as a key member of the working professional MBA and Masters programs administrative team. The position is responsible for managing the recruiting functions for working professional Graduate Programs (initial focus will be Executive MBA, MS Supply Chain, others as added to the portfolio), as well as conducting program recruiting activities on and off campus.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Senior Associate Director of Recruiting and Senior Director of Admissions and Recruiting, develop, manage and execute the strategy to recruit more working professional students to Carlson's working professional graduate MBA and Masters programs.
- Serve as a key advisor to candidates interested in the Carlson School working professional graduate programs (initially Executive MBA and MS Supply Chain, others as added to the portfolio).
- Advise prospects on program curriculum, distinguishing program features, and co-curricular program features, admission requirements and process.
- Guide candidates through the application process and be a valued, trusted resource to drive more applications to working professional programs.
- Represent all working professional programs at on-campus and off-site events, including coffees, lunches, information sessions, events for a military audience, corporate information sessions/tabling, and more.
- Meet with candidates and advise them on program requirements and key features.
- Recommend and participate in the development of new, innovative recruiting events and tactics, on and off campus.
- Manage the operations of such events.
- Manage the class weekend class visitor program and preview days for working professional programs. Assign prospective candidates to current students or faculty members for class visits.
- Develop marketing content and execute follow up with applicant requests and inquiries, including managing the working professional program email inboxes in Slate.
- Develop, analyze, and manage recruiting data: inquiries, applications in progress, and submitted applications by program and demographic population.
- Analyze success of events and other external-focused recruiting activities, and provide regular updates to the Senior Associate Director of Recruiting.
- Serve as liaison to admissions operations team meetings.
- Participate in developing the overall recruiting strategy.
- Collaborate with external partners as required in recruitment.
- Read applications for Carlson MBA and Masters programs as needed.
- Provide interview support for MBA and MS programs as needed.
- Attend and support admissions/yield events as needed.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree plus at least 4 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree plus at least two years of relevant experience.
- Ability to travel and work evenings and occasional weekends.
- Experience in higher education, DEI roles, sales, marketing, recruitment, human resources, talent acquisition, program management, business development, advising, or other customer or student-facing roles.
- Experience collaborating with external organizations and/or companies.
- Experience recruiting a working professional audience.
- Knowledge of the graduate program recruitment and admissions process.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated effectiveness in public speaking and presenting.
- Proven ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
- Self-starter. Able to work independently, multi-task effectively, and foster teamwork.
- Able to work with high-level professionals from external organizations.
- Outstanding customer service skills and strong attention to detail.
- Proven record of success working in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of political and personnel management acumen.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, objectivity, sensitivity, discretion, professionalism, and exercise good judgment and tact.
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
- An analytic mindset that utilizes data and research to inform decision-making.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, primarily between May and November.
