Associate Director/Director, Enterprise Applications
About the role
We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Associate Director/Director of Enterprise Applications to lead the strategy, implementation, support, and evolution of our corporate systems landscape. In this role, you will be responsible for the core software platforms that enable our Menarini Stemline Oncology business to scale efficiently, including SAP ERP, HRIS, expense management tools, and other critical enabling function systems (Finance, Legal, Procurement).
Responsibilities
Define the Roadmap: Architect and execute a multi-year enterprise application roadmap aligned with the company’s scaling objectives.
Business Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders in Stemline Finance, HR, Legal, Procurement, and Supply Chain to understand their needs and deliver scalable technology solutions.
Budget Management: Oversee the Enterprise Applications capital and operating expense budgets (CapEx/OpEx), ensuring maximum ROI on software investments.
ERP Ownership: Lead the optimization, lifecycle management, and support of the SAP ERP ecosystem for Stemline, ensuring seamless integration with supply chain, QA and commercial functions, working with the Menarini SAP COE team to maintain enterprise standards.
Enabling Functions Support: Oversee the corporate systems portfolio, including HRIS (e.g., Workday or SuccessFactors), SAP Concur (expense management), and procurement platforms.
Integration Strategy: Champion modern integration standards to ensure data flows seamlessly and securely across disparate corporate systems and cloud platforms.
Data Analytics: Partner with business intelligence teams to ensure enterprise applications provide robust, reliable reporting and actionable data analytics.
Compliance, Quality & Security: Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all financial and corporate systems adhere to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance, internal controls, and data privacy regulations (GDPR/CCPA).
Biotech Context: Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure applications impacting clinical/manufacturing pipelines comply with GxP validation and FDA 21 CFR Part 11 guidelines where applicable.
Cybersecurity: Partner with the Information Security team to enforce rigorous access controls, vulnerability management, and data protection strategies across all corporate applications.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
7-10+ years of progressive IT experience with at least 3-5 years in a role managing enterprise applications.
Deep, hands-on expertise with SAP ERP (ECC or S/4HANA), including at least two functional areas: FI/CO, MM, SD, or HR/HCM.
Proven ownership of SAP Concur or a comparable T&E platform, including end-to-end configuration and finance integration.
Experience leading HRIS implementations or major upgrades (Workday, SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, or equivalent).
Strong background in system integrations, middleware, and API-driven architectures (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, SAP Integration Suite, or similar).
Demonstrated delivery of large-scale, cross-functional ERP or enterprise application programs in a regulated industry.
Working knowledge of SOX ITGC compliance, change management controls, and IT audit support.
Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, and business-partnership skills.
Preferred
Experience in a biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences environment with familiarity with GxP and CSV (Computer System Validation) practices.
SAP Certified Application Associate or Professional designation.
Exposure to ERP vendor evaluation and RFP processes.
PMP, or SAFe Agile certification.
