Join our team as a leader within the School of Public Service Education, where you'll play a key role in shaping high-quality academic programs that prepare the next generation of public service professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all instructional activities to ensure academic integrity and student learning outcomes.
  • Manage program compliance with internal policies, State regulations, and accrediting bodies.
  • Oversee curriculum maintenance and submissions to the Curriculum Committee.
  • Aid faculty in developing, assessing, and evaluating program and student learning outcomes.
  • Hire, supervise, and evaluate full-time and part-time faculty and staff.
  • Provide constructive feedback and professional development support.
  • Cover faculty assignments and address instructional absences as needed.
  • Develop divisional course schedules and make faculty assignments in coordination with administrative leadership.
  • Manage enrollment, retention, completion, and transfer/job placement outcomes.
  • Use data analytics to promote student retention and completion.
  • Manage the unit budget and provide input into budget planning.
  • Oversee procurement and maintenance of facilities and instructional equipment.
  • Prepare budget-related reports and ensure fiscal compliance.
  • Address student concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Promote student success through participation in college- and community-events and initiatives.
  • Assist in submission of college, State, and accreditation reports.
  • Support grant development and oversight.
  • Ensure timely updates to the College catalog and related documents.
  • Completes all other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in Criminal Justice, Fire Science or related field.
  • Demonstrate and understanding of contemporary pedagogy.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use data in decision making.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to work with full and part-time faculty from diverse backgrounds and with various experience levels.
  • Ability to function effectively with multiple priorities.
  • Ability to be well organized and demonstrate effective time management, flexibility, and creativity.
  • Ability to be an effective decision maker and creative problem solver.

Physical Demands

This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally more than twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary.
