Associate Dean, School of Education

Responsibilities

• Co-lead and co-manage the school’s strategic planning process
• Provide leadership and oversight for all national and state accreditation activities
• Oversee the review of undergraduate and graduate curriculum change proposals
• Serve on the Schools Executive Committee and Chair the SOE Educator Preparation Policy Council
• Cultivate and help manage new academic, advisement, and scholarship programs
• Represent the Dean as appropriate when the Dean is unavailable

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Education or closely related field
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in higher education leadership in the role of chairperson or program director
• Evidence of leadership in accreditation and strong managerial, collegial, and collaborative leadership
• Experience managing multiple faculties, staff, and collaborating with academic researchers and teacher education clinical practice sites
• At least 8 years of teaching undergraduate and graduate students and research experience
• Strong record of scholarship, including writing, obtaining, and implementing grants
• Strategic planning, program development, data-driven approach and assessment skills
• Experience with grant procurement, supporting faculty growth, oversight of college-level programs and processes, and program development
