About the Role

The Americas Institutional Businesses (AIB) develops and maintains relationships with sophisticated institutional investors, including pensions, universities, non-profits, family offices, and healthcare systems. AIB teams collaborate to deliver asset management, risk management, and advisory services tailored to clients’ investment objectives.

Global Consultant Relations (GCR) drives new business through relationships with global, national, and specialist investment consultants. The team builds consultant conviction in BlackRock’s capabilities, ensuring the firm is a key partner in delivering investment solutions across all asset classes.

GCR is seeking an Associate to join the US Consultant Coverage team in San Francisco. This role focuses on developing and executing strategic relationships with investment consultants across BlackRock’s investment capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support sales goals by aligning consultant needs and client opportunities with BlackRock’s capabilities.
  • Contribute to developing deep partnerships with consultants, characterized by access and influence.
  • Manage the research agenda and servicing for the assigned coverage universe.
  • Partner with investment and client teams to drive new business and maintain existing relationships.
  • Guide and contribute to the career development of other team members.

Requirements

  • General understanding of the institutional investment marketplace.
  • 3+ years of experience working with consultants and/or institutional clients.
  • Experience with various institutional client types (e.g., Pension, Taft-Hartley, Endowments, Foundations, Healthcare).
  • BA/BS degree, preferably in a related field.
  • Possess, or willingness to obtain, Series 7 and 63 licenses.
  • Effective team player; able to work with people of all levels.
  • High level of self-motivation, with strong integrity and ethics.

Pay

For San Francisco, CA, the salary range for this position is USD $110,000.00 - USD $150,000.00. Employees are also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and benefits, including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. Total compensation may vary based on role, location, and individual performance.

Schedule

BlackRock’s hybrid work model requires employees to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more in-office time based on their roles and responsibilities. New hires can expect this model to accelerate learning and onboarding.
