Responsibilities

  • Work with business stakeholders to update and manage business continuity plans, including the execution of business impact analyses and documentation of recovery strategies.
  • Assist in the planning of BC/IT Disaster Recovery Testing and complete recovery strategy testing (manual workaround, recovery seat, transference) with relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform regular risk assessments of business practices to identify severity and likelihood of loss in case of disaster.
  • Assist with crisis coordination, data gathering, and business continuity communications during disruptive events.
  • Handle routine administration of business continuity software and tools, providing metrics and reporting.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5+ years of Business Continuity experience preferred; exposure to Financial Institutions a plus.
  • Ability to cultivate an internal network of support partners in Cyber, IT, Third-Party, and Operational Resilience to identify operational gaps and vulnerabilities.
  • Establish relationships with business stakeholders across all departments and regions to foster collaboration and completion of BCM initiatives.
  • Understanding of business processes to drive improved execution of BCM responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with data tools (Microsoft Office Suite) required; familiarity with Crisis Communication Tools (Everbridge) and Planning Tools (Fusion) a plus.

Schedule

SMBC’s employees participate in a Hybrid workforce model, combining remote work with in-office attendance. Employees must live within a reasonable commuting distance of their office location. Hybrid work schedules are role-specific and will be discussed during the interview process. Certain roles, such as FINRA-registered positions, may require full-time in-office attendance.
