Senior Associate, Business Continuity Management
As a Senior Risk Associate in Card Risk, you will support the development, delivery, and iteration of horizontal risk management programs, with a primary focus on Business Continuity Management (BCM). You will serve as a technical point of reference bridging enterprise policy and line-of-business (LOB) execution, ensuring resiliency strategies are optimized for the evolving threat landscape of the Card business.
Responsibilities
- Program Management & Execution
- Design and execute horizontal risk initiatives across Card, ensuring consistency in the Business Continuity program.
- Proactively probe existing processes to uncover operational risks and propose enhancements to program roadmaps and strategies.
- Produce high-quality risk assessments and data-driven reports, demonstrating autonomy in judgment while escalating complex blockers as needed.
- Stay ahead of industry trends in BCM and operational resilience to guide Business partners.
- Influence & Communication
- Create compelling narratives via slides and verbal briefings to influence stakeholders and leaders on risk mitigation outcomes.
- Act as a technical reference in BCM, providing guidance to Risk Managers, Plan Owners, and Plan Managers while challenging existing thinking to improve Card’s stability.
- Tailor communication to diverse audiences, from technical teams to Director-level leadership, ensuring clarity and organizational buy-in.
- Problem Solving & Judgment
- Participate in process assessments and risk evaluations, navigating ambiguity with minimal guidance.
- Analyze disparate data points across Card Risk to identify broader trends and impediments, driving systemic change.
- Challenge existing norms tactfully, providing actionable solutions rather than just identifying gaps.
- Demonstrate sound judgment in determining when an analysis is complete and when a risk requires immediate leadership escalation.
- Partnership & Leadership
- Partner with internal and external LOB customers to develop resiliency solutions that meet operational needs while maintaining enterprise standards.
- Lead team meetings and agile standups, fostering collaboration and leveraging broader networks for project success.
- Informally coach junior associates and contribute to the team’s collective toolset and knowledge base.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree.
- At least 1 year of Risk Management or Project Management experience.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Business Continuity, Crisis Management, or Operational Risk.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable risk insights.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, specifically in slide-writing and executive storytelling.
Pay
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on agreed-upon hours.
- McLean, VA: $96,500 - $110,100
- Richmond, VA: $87,700 - $100,000
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. This role is also eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
