Job Summary Kutak Rock LLP seeks an experienced Associate to join the firm’s Bankruptcy and Litigation practice groups in its Scottsdale office. Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated interest in developing their knowledge and skills representing corporate debtors, lenders, other creditors and trustees in bankruptcy proceedings and representing financial institutions, other business entities and individuals in state and federal court on matters related to financial restructurings, asset sales, creditors’ rights, and business litigation. Experience in bankruptcy matters in both Arizona and elsewhere is highly desirable for this position. The selected candidate will be able to strengthen their skill set in bankruptcy and restructuring while working with an experienced nationally recognized partner and team. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of commercial restructurings and Chapter 11 bankruptcies, including strategy, drafting, discovery, court appearances, and client communicationsReview and documentation of commercial financial transactions, including corporate governance mattersReview, draft, and negotiate financing, workout, and restructuring documentsReview and manage financial due diligence QUALIFICATIONS: Skills and Abilities Strong analytical abilities and the ability to apply critical thinking and possess a high attention to detailExceptional research, writing, and analytical skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsSelf-motivated and proactive with a strong work ethic with the drive to help grow an active and expanding practiceAbility to manage and organize workload independently while maintaining communication with partners and staff members Commitment to achieving the goals of Firm clients QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience Must be currently admitted to practice with an active bar license in good standing within the state of Arizona, or able to be admitted through examination or waiver within one yearMinimum of 3 years’ experience in bankruptcy, financial services, debtor-creditor, collections, or commercial litigation matters preferred Position Information Status: Exempt Salary Range: $160,000-$175,000 annual base salary, commensurate with education and experience, plus discretionary bonus.
