Associate Auction Coordinator - Williamsburg, VA (Part Time Opportunity)
About the Role
Be the face of Auction.com, the nation’s leading online real estate marketplace, and represent the company by conducting, co-hosting, and otherwise participating in live auctions, traditionally held on the courthouse steps. You will interact with bidders, perform necessary tasks to successfully complete an auction, and multitask to ensure all required processes are met. Help your local community thrive by educating customers on how to participate in auctions and assisting in turning houses into homes.
The territory for this role is Williamsburg/Newport News, VA, but you may need to drive up to 2 hours to county courthouse auctions in surrounding areas as needed. A rental car will be provided for travel outside of the primary territory.
Schedule
Live auctions take place Monday – Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Each auction day typically requires 3 - 4 hours of work. On average, you will work between 6 – 10 hours weekly, though hours fluctuate and are not guaranteed. Your schedule will be flexible and adaptable, assigned by your Area/State manager based on daily auction needs. Required training sessions (in-person and via Zoom), team calls, and skill-improvement resources are also part of the role.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and collect customer information to ensure all pre-auction requirements are met.
- Learn and share knowledge about Auction.com programs and initiatives to deliver the best auction experience.
- Collect sensitive buyer and seller information with 100% data input accuracy.
- Multitask in a fast-paced auction environment while providing customer service to attendees.
- Maintain the highest level of professionalism with customers and on-site event staff (e.g., deputies, government employees, attorneys).
- Maintain equipment and materials.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on customer resources.
- Engage in professional communication and networking.
- Collect customer information using proprietary software and complete customer receipts.
- Handle funds, including cash, comfortably.
- Complete event reports.
- Emphasize attendance and punctuality.
- Participate in and contribute to scheduled training and team calls.
- Complete all tasks with high quality, efficiency, and attention to detail.
Requirements
- Enjoys working in customer service and interacting with people.
- Tech-savvy with excellent technical troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

- High school diploma or equivalent (minimum education requirement).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when needed.
- Ability to stand for long hours and work outside in all weather conditions.
- Regular travel up to 2 hours to event locations in a personal vehicle.
- Prior auction experience appreciated but not required.
