Associate Auction Coordinator - Fredericksburg, VA (Part Time Opportunity)
About the Role
Be the face of Auction.com, the nation’s leading online real estate marketplace, and represent the company by conducting, co-hosting, and participating in live auctions, typically held on courthouse steps. You will interact with bidders, ensure all auction processes are completed, and educate customers on participating in auctions. The territory includes Fredericksburg, VA, with travel up to 2 hours to surrounding county courthouse auctions as needed. A rental car will be provided for travel outside the primary territory.
Schedule
Live auctions take place Monday – Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Each auction day typically requires 3–4 hours of work, with an average of 6–10 hours weekly, though hours fluctuate and are not guaranteed. Flexibility is required, as assignments depend on scheduling needs. Training sessions (in-person and via Zoom), team calls, and skill-building resources are also part of the role.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and collect customer information to ensure pre-auction requirements are met.
- Educate attendees about Auction.com programs and initiatives to enhance their auction experience.
- Accurately collect and input sensitive buyer and seller information.
- Multitask in a fast-paced auction environment while providing excellent customer service.
- Maintain professionalism with customers and on-site staff (e.g., deputies, government employees, attorneys).
- Handle and maintain equipment and materials.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on customer resources.
- Engage in professional communication and networking.
- Use proprietary software to collect customer information and complete receipts.
- Handle funds, including cash, securely and accurately.
- Complete event reports and ensure high-quality, efficient task execution.
- Prioritize attendance and participate in scheduled training and team calls.
- Adapt to dynamic environments and think quickly on your feet.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (minimum education requirement).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when needed.
- Ability to stand for long hours and work outside in all weather conditions.
- Regular travel up to 2 hours to event locations in your personal vehicle.
- Flexible and adaptable schedule to accommodate auction assignments.
