- 3-5 years of experience handling construction contract claims, public and private, as opposed to construction defect work experience
- Experience with arbitration and at least exposure to preparing a case for trial/arbitration including actually participating in an arbitration or trial
- Knowledge and experience of mechanic’s lien, law, stop notices, bid protests, public contract law, prompt payment law and payment and performance bonds
- Knowledge and experience working on construction claims for contract extras, delay damages, impact damages, assessment of liquidated damages and substantive law surrounding these issues
- Knowledge of alternate project delivery methods
- Deposition experience both as to percipient witnesses and expert witnesses in the substantive areas of construction claims and law
- Motion writing experience, including motions, depositions, and letters regarding construction litigation
- Discovery planning and execution experience
- Ability to interface with the client and convey a level of professionalism and competence in terms of both the legal issues and the strategic practical issues in construction litigation
- Self-starter and excellent follow-through skills
