Associate Advisor Training Specialist
About the role
The Senior Advisor Training Associate within our Financial Planning team supports advisor success by providing guidance, training, and real-time assistance across financial planning tools and workflows. This role partners closely with advisors to help them effectively build, deliver, and refine financial plans, troubleshoot challenges, and increase overall confidence in planning capabilities. It combines hands-on support, training delivery, and development of scalable best practices to improve advisor adoption and outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide real-time support to advisors through phone, email, and 1:1 consultation
- Answer questions related to financial planning tools, scenario modeling, and plan development
- Assist advisors in navigating platforms such as eMoney, MoneyGuide, AdvicePay, and similar tools
- Troubleshoot issues and remove barriers to enable continued plan progress
- Serve as a first line resource and escalate complex cases as needed
- Reinforce best practices that improve plan quality, consistency, and client readiness
- Deliver virtual and in-person training sessions, including webinars, bootcamps, and group sessions
- Build advisor proficiency and confidence in planning tools and workflows
- Identify common challenges and incorporate them into training design and delivery
- Create and maintain training materials, job aids, and best practice guides
- Translate real-world advisor needs into practical, skill-building learning experiences

- Ensure content reflects practical and effective use of financial planning tools
- Continuously refine content to align with evolving planning strategies and advisor needs
- Organize and curate content for knowledge base and AI-enabled search tools
- Identify trends in advisor inquiries to inform support strategies and content development
- Support the development of scalable, self-service resources for advisors
- Play a key role in supporting software releases by testing, translating updates into advisor-facing guidance, training, and best practices
Requirements
- Strong understanding of financial planning workflows, including plan development and scenario modeling
- Hands-on experience with financial planning tools such as eMoney, MoneyGuide, or similar platforms
- Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume, advisor-facing support environment
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills across technical and planning-related issues
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly in a practical, easy-to-understand manner
- Experience delivering training, coaching, or group facilitation preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Financial Planning, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Relevant financial services licenses required, Series 7 and 65/66 CFP®, CPWA®, Paraplanner certification, or similar credential preferred
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in financial planning, wealth management, or advisor-facing support role
- Travel Requirements: 15%
Benefits
The base annual salary range for this role is $55,000 - $86,000, plus a competitive incentive-based bonus. Base annual salary depends on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location. Base annual salary may also differ significantly due to geography and cost of labor considerations.
