About the role

The Associate Administrator at Monarch Healthcare Management oversees the management, control, and operation of the Senior Living Campus which includes an Assisted Living Facility and a Skilled Nursing Facility. The role aims to ensure that the facility operates effectively and efficiently, promoting the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and operate the facility to meet the individual needs and preferences of residents, ensuring quality resident care through compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Ensure quality resident care through a comprehensive admission process, drafting, implementing, and maintaining plans of care based on individual needs and preferences (INP).
  • Maximize the quality of living for residents by continuously monitoring their progress and making correlated recommendations for the best care environment.
  • Train and supervise staff to ensure they follow state and federal guidelines related to resident rights and address issues related to abuse, neglect, and misappropriation of resident property promptly.
  • Create, review, and update a formal Quality Assurance Program Initiative to determine how each staff member influences residents' individual needs.
  • Set and maintain a culture of collaboration, compassion, and customer service that encourages staff to self-report areas of improvement and protect residents' rights.
  • Manage and support competent department directors to ensure they hold their staff accountable for meeting the facility's standards.
  • Achieve fiscal soundness and sustained success by creating accurate budgets, overseeing billing and collections, and ensuring staff are aware of their duties regarding payroll, accounts receivable, billing, record keeping, internal controls, trust accounts, HIPAA, etc.
  • Ensure the facility's physical environment complies with federal, state, and local laws through understanding and maintaining equipment and resources, planning, implementing, and validating infection control and sanitation, and training staff on emergency systems, fire systems, sprinklers, etc.
  • Support staff during surprise inspections, respond to surveyors, and ensure staff cooperation with surveys, responding quickly and thoroughly with Plan of Corrections.
  • Champion the mission, vision, and values of Monarch Healthcare Management and integrate them into the daily operations of the facility.
  • Maintain compliance with Monarch Vulnerable Adult policy and procedures, providing appropriate notifications where required, to address and mitigate liability and risk.
  • Regularly review and improve quality assurance systems (case mix) and communicate necessary issues to the Regional Director of Operations and/or VP Operations.
  • Collaborate with the VP Assisted Living Communities to ensure compliance of the Assisted Living portion of the facility, if applicable.
  • Perform duties of HIPAA Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to privacy policies, overseeing resident rights concerning their identifiable health care information, monitoring the HIPAA tracking system, investigating complaints, and ensuring proper consent and authorization forms are used.

Qualifications

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field.
  • The ability to obtain a Nursing Home Administrator License and an Assisted Living Director license in a timely manner.
  • Preferred 2+ years experience in long-term care.
  • Experience in both skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.
  • Leadership skills to achieve established goals through inspiration and loyalty of staff.
  • Business acumen to understand the intertwining of departments and how resulting financial metrics demonstrate their effectiveness.
  • Resilience to provide/receive constructive feedback, course correct, and not take it personally.
  • Motivation to ensure staff feel supported while ensuring accountability to work expectations.
  • Personality to get along with all personality types and inspire trust with residents, staff, family, and the community.
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ) to actively listen with the goal of understanding, clearly speak and proficiently read/write in English, and travel as needed, including overnight stays.
