About the role
As an Assistant Youth Development Professional in our elementary out-of-school time programs, you’ll:
- Keep students safe through active supervision
- Play games, read fun books, and engage in activities with the kids
- Help students with their schoolwork, including math, reading, art, and science experiments
- Clean and organize spaces to ensure they are safe and fun
Responsibilities
- Be actively engaged with students by playing games and participating in activities
- Provide help with homework and educational activities
- Model kindness, respect, and helpfulness for kids
- Prioritize student safety and report concerns to the Site Coordinator
- Clean and organize spaces to maintain a safe and fun environment
- Assist with preparing and serving snacks
- Help track attendance and participation as requested
- Appreciate and learn from people with different backgrounds
- Maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
- Complete all required trainings by licensing and the organization within the identified timeframe
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old; if under 18, must work under direct and constant supervision of a Youth Development Professional or Site Coordinator
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, manually manipulate, reach outward and above shoulders, speak, and bend on a daily basis
- Capability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs on a daily basis
