About the role
The Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach assists the head Women’s Lacrosse Coach in all aspects of the program, requires a proven track record of success at the collegiate level, and adheres to all university, CAA, and NCAA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Motivate and inspire student-athletes to excel academically and athletically.
- Research, scout, evaluate, and contact prospective student-athletes while operating within department, CAA, and NCAA regulations.
- Collaborate with other campus departments and university staff in planning official and unofficial visits.
- Coordinate mailing and organizing recruiting communications while operating within department, CAA, and NCAA regulations.
- Participate in the design and implementation of various camps.
- Assist in practice and game preparation and post-practice analysis.
- Assist in player development, tactical, technical, athletic, and mental training in a positive environment.
- Create scouting reports, post-game match analysis, and pregame match preparation.
- Collaborate with the strength and conditioning coach and head coach in sport science management and implementation.
- Attend necessary meetings with student-athletes and personnel.
- Assist in administrative tasks such as travel, equipment, and budgetary organization and implementation.
- Manage student-athlete welfare and assist in staff and program development.
- Support public relations, fundraising, and promotional activities as needed.
- Work closely with the head coach to build and maintain relationships with coaches, administration, and staff.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Comply with Campbell University policies and procedures, including Title IX and FERPA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
- At least 1-2 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level.
- Experience competing as a lacrosse athlete.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, supervisory, and administrative skills.
- Effective communication through oral and written channels.
- Teaching women’s lacrosse at a high level within a professional setting.
- Familiarity with video editing and match analysis software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, internet, and social media.
- Independent and sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Initiative and ownership of projects.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Flexible and irregular hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays.
- Professionalism, tact, positive attitude, courtesy, and discretion.
- Accuracy, honesty, integrity, and ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University.
