About the role

This part-time Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach assists in planning and directing the training of student-athletes, assessing individuals' abilities and skill levels to determine appropriate team positions, and helping players reach their highest athletic potential through athletic training and leadership. The role requires familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations, standard concepts, and practices within Women’s Lacrosse. A degree of creativity and latitude is expected, with general supervision provided.

This position requires night and weekend work, as well as regular travel for recruiting and team events.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the head coach in monitoring strength and conditioning programs.
  • Support on- and off-field coaching, including practice planning, implementation, individual and team coaching, and other assigned duties.
  • Assist with academic support for student-athletes, including study hall monitoring, academic check-ins, and class attendance tracking.
  • Participate in on- and off-campus recruiting activities, such as prospect evaluation, database management, correspondence, and phone calls.
  • Provide input on the evaluation and improvement of student-athletes.
  • Pass the NCAA recruiting certification test.
  • Assist with scouting opponents.
  • Help plan team travel within budgetary limitations.
  • Support fundraising and special events within the athletic department’s framework.
  • Commit to the academic success, personal growth, and social development of student-athletes.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach, Athletic Director, or candidate discussions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Collegiate coaching and/or playing experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Synergy, and/or video editing software.
  • Proven leadership ability.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, student-athletes, recruits, and families.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to NCAA Division II guidelines and regulations.

Schedule

20 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and regular travel.
