About the role

The 92nd Street Y Nursery School aims to create a shared responsibility and mutual respect environment fostering professional growth through excellence in teaching.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with all staff to support the school's mission and vision.
• Bring personal interests and abilities to the classroom to contribute to the curriculum.
• Participate in curriculum planning and implementation of daily/weekly schedules and activities.
• Assist in recording observations of students.
• Supervise children in all activities, indoors and outdoors.
• Attend faculty and team meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Previous experience working with young children preferred.
• Ability to work with a diverse cultural population.
• Excellent written, verbal, and diplomatic communication skills.
• Understanding of Jewish traditions and culture a plus.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be able to obtain all relevant qualifications to comply with NYC Department of Health requirements.

Skills

• Flexible, respectful, and cooperative attitude.
• Ability to share expertise and materials.
• Proficiency in implementing and reinforcing behavior management strategies.
• Experience in working with individual children, small groups, and the whole group.
• Knowledge of Jewish traditions and culture.

Benefits

• Compensation range: $45,000 - $55,000.
• Based on qualifications, years of experience, education, certifications, and location.

Pay

• 37.50 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
