Job Summary
Exercise direct supervision over assigned crews or subcontractors from start to finish, providing direction, leadership, and guidance to employees and subcontractors, assisting them in planning, coordination, and execution of their work in order to complete the project in a timely and economical manner with high standards of workmanship. Responsible for maximizing profits on assigned projects.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Work with Superintendent or Project Director in preparation of project schedule and budget.
- Become thoroughly familiar with the plans, specifications, contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, daily correspondence, shop drawings, and all documents related to the project.
- Aid Superintendent/Project Director to determine work methods and acquire appropriate equipment for the project.
- Understand and enforce company safety policies and organize safety meetings with employees and supervisors.
- Employ or discharge workmen and intermediate foremen as needed to ensure safe, efficient, economical, and timely completion of the work.
- Conduct meetings with subordinates, subcontractors, and others as appropriate in order to inform, coordinate, and direct work.
- Assure accurate completion or all documentation including safety reports, payroll preparation, labor unit report.
- Inspect the work of employees and subcontractors to ensure construction conforms to requirements of the Contract Documents, and the quality needed to build repeat business.
- Instruct direct reports in job direction and company policies and procedures.

Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED
- At least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in construction and management of field personnel.
Requirements
- Physical Demands: Regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Mental Stress: Mental stress can be taxing, especially when managing multiple projects and during problematic opening and/or closing phases of projects.
- Long Hours: May be required to work long hours for extended periods of time.
