Assistant Superintendent

Responsibilities

• Help administer project safety program to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
• Provides technical assistance on the project, interprets contract drawings and submittals
• Manages select self-perform operations and subcontractor operations including safety, budget, schedule, and quality
• Aids the Superintendent and Project Manager with daily and weekly tasks such as daily reports, daily safety walks, weekly quantity reports, and weekly schedule updates
• Understands the project schedule and the critical path
• Reviews and provides content for the short-term plan
• Participates in the quality program including attending meetings, performing inspections, and verifying materials
• Interacts professionally with client representatives, A-E representatives, other contractors, and various building officials as required
• Engages in business development by creating Raving Fans on current projects, utilizing contacts to initiate leads for future projects
• Attends monthly superintendent's meetings, quarterly safety meetings, and periodic training sessions
• Develops skills necessary to become a Superintendent and manages and controls all aspects of a construction project

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Construction Management/Civil Engineering
• 0-5 years of experience in the construction field or a related field in a similar role
• Understanding of building plans and specifications
• Knowledge of safety standards and enforcement, including OSHA 30 certification
