About the Role

Work 40 hours per week in a billable, uniform capacity. The vast majority of the position is operational, requiring the Lead Officer to maintain a personal presence throughout the region.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, supervise, and manage subordinates in the execution of appropriate strategies, consistent with law, Client and Company policy, and accepted security standards that maintain a safe, secure, and orderly decorum in support of the stated organizational mission.
  • Oversee the training of all assigned officers and ensure they are appropriately and thoroughly carrying out all duties outlined in the site’s post guidelines.
  • Ensure the appearance, grooming, and physical image of all uniform security employees and event staff employees assigned to site are impeccable at all times.
  • Maintain regular communication with the designated client contact, follow through with client requests, and keep operations manager updated as to client communication.
  • Understand and require the performance of DK’s customer service GIFTS program with all assigned officers.
  • Maintain an inventory of and report problems associated with DK and client owned equipment and uniforms.
  • Be available at all times to receive calls from subordinates with site questions while the officers are on duty and handle unexpected scheduling issues.
  • Other duties as assigned. The daily duties of this position are determined by the client and may vary depending upon the needs of the site / client contact.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old and have at least a high school diploma or equivalent education certification, such as a GED, per MCL 338.106717(2). (Must also be at least 21 years old and be a Michigan CPL or LEOSA cardholder to perform armed security work).
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana). Since our company contracts with the federal government, we must comply with federal laws regarding the use of marijuana, regardless of whether it is used recreationally or medicinally.
  • Must not have been convicted of any felonies, per MCL 338.106010(1)(c).
  • Must not have been convicted of any misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including for marijuana), or two or more alcohol-related offenses, per MCL 338.106010(1)(c).
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk, including up and down stairs, for 8-12 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. (Must be able to lift at least 70 lbs. for armed work).
  • Must be CPR, First Aid, and AED certified (Child, Infant, and Adult), or willing to become certified and be physically capable of administering lifesaving care when needed.
  • Must be able to see clearly at least 20 feet away (assisted with glasses or contact lenses if necessary).
  • Must be able to hear conversations in loud environments either in-person or via radio.
  • Must be able to use a smart mobile phone or computer to check emails and complete online training.
  • Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be professional and possess excellent customer service skills, excellent personal integrity, and a positive attitude.
  • Must complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client and company policies.
  • Current employees on active disciplinary probation are not eligible for this position and will not be considered. Employees who have been previously removed from the contract governing this position will not be considered. Previous employees who were on disciplinary probation at the time of separation will not be considered.

Military veterans and people with security, firefighting, department of corrections, or law enforcement experience are encouraged to apply.

Schedule

1st shifts Monday-Friday (9:45 AM – 5:45 PM).

Pay

$22.46 per hour. This is NOT an armed security position. Weapons are not permitted on the premises, including in personal vehicles parked on the premises.
