Risk Management & Safety
- Applies risk management, conflict resolution, and behavior management strategies.
- Effectively communicates behavioral and safety concerns to counselors, participants, and parents/guardians.
- Documents incidents and accidents and provides follow-up for reports.
- Facilitates communication between staff and parents/guardians regarding camper behavioral concerns.
Program Administration & Staff Support
- Assists in the administrative and operational oversight of UNH Community Sailing Centre staff.
- Participates in the interviewing, training, and evaluation of staff, including pre-camp training sessions.
- Implements program changes, including but not limited to staffing adjustments and inclement weather activities.
- Creates organizational systems to track camp attendance.
Equipment & Facility Management
- Maintains inventory of boats and center equipment.
- Forwards recommendations for purchases to Campus Recreation professional staff.
- Aids in general boat maintenance and upkeep of the fleet.
Customer Service & Professionalism
- Presents a professional appearance and maintains a high standard of customer service.
- Develops and organizes daily activity rotations to enhance the participant experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- Two Year post-secondary education.
- Required Licenses & Certifications: USNH Protection of Minors, CPR, AED & First-Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Risk Management training.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong Supervision and Safety Awareness.
- Knowledge of planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities while fostering a fun and inclusive environment.
- Risk Management and Emergency Response Skills.
- Effective Communication and Team Collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Level 1 American Canoe Association Certification.
- Customer Service Experience.
- Demonstrated experience providing excellent customer service, including communication with parents and guardians.
- Background in Recreation or Education.
- Coursework or a degree in recreation, education, adolescent development, or a related field.
