Responsibilities
- Communicates all problems and special cases and makes recommendations to the Property Manager and the Property Supervisor.
- Processes re-certifications (sets up interviews, assists with filling out forms, follows up with processing information, performs rent calculations, prepares leases).
- Inspects site grounds and common hallways on a regular basis.
- Makes sure vacant apartments are in make-ready condition.
- Conducts housekeeping home visits and marketing outreach to local agencies and businesses.
- Acts as a liaison and advocate on behalf of residents to public and private agencies.
- Carries out rent collection program and follow-up procedures for delinquent rent and evictions in accordance with approved HHDC policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma (minimum); 2-year or 4-year degree a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products and property management software.
- Affordable housing leasing experience required (2-year minimum).
- Must have or be able to obtain State of Illinois AMP Leasing Certificate.
- Experience working with the Tax Credit program/affordable housing.
- Good communication skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English/Spanish is a plus.
- Confident, positive attitude and manner.
- Able to interact effectively with a wide range of people.
Qualifications
Bilingual in Spanish/English is required and Section 8 experience is a must.
