Assistant Program Director

Full-time position in Topsfield supporting adults with developmental disabilities in a residential home setting.

Schedule

Sunday–Thursday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm

Pay

$25.50–$26.00 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Document accurately and thoroughly in Inter-Team Communication Logs, Health Records, Daily Data Books, and Fire Drill Logs as outlined in Northeast Arc Policy and Procedures.
  • Facilitate meaningful community experiences that foster skill acquisition, relationship building, and independence.
  • Participate in supervision, staff meetings, QA sessions, and other required meetings or trainings.
  • Ensure self and staff maintain all required trainings; assist in training Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) on house systems and the unique needs of each individual, including on-site supervision and support.
  • Administer medications according to Northeast Arc Policies and Procedures and MAP Regulations.
  • Support individuals during doctor’s appointments, ER visits, and hospital stays; contact on-call nursing as needed.
  • Provide hands-on support at the home, including individualized assistance with transferring, bathing, grooming, and following specific dining protocols and treatments.
  • Maintain the home and agency vehicles through seasonal maintenance, routine cleaning, and immediate reporting of issues or concerns.
  • Complete ISP documentation, incident reporting, and other necessary documentation in accordance with Northeast Arc Policies and funding regulations.
  • Maintain and review records for individual and house bank accounts; assist with Rep Payee and entitlement paperwork as assigned.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed; report critical issues (behavioral, medical, or maintenance) immediately to the Program Director and complete required documentation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two years of human service experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities or within human services.
  • Maintain certifications as required by Northeast Arc Policy and Procedures, including First Aid, CPR, MAP, Vehicle Safety, Universal Precautions (UP), Human Rights Officer, and Formal Fire Safety Training.
  • Valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, bend, push wheelchairs, provide physical intervention as necessary, and lift or transfer individuals.
  • Prior experience in a direct support role working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Works in the community in a home setting with multiple residents or individuals living independently.
