About the role
Gonzaga University is seeking a tenure-track faculty member in Neuroscience or a closely related field.
Responsibilities
- Teach equivalent to 9 credits each semester (typically three lecture sections)
- Teaching areas include introductory Neuroscience courses and upper-division courses (Biological Psychology, Affective Neuroscience, Systems Neurophysiology, etc.)
- Develop neuroscience research program providing research experiences to undergraduates
- Publish in peer-reviewed journals and seek external funding
- Provide academic and career advising to 15-25 undergraduate students per year
- Participate in service and academic citizenship
- Maintain standards of professionalism
Requirements
- PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology, or closely related field
- At least one year experience teaching undergraduate students
- Research program focused on neural mechanisms underlying human cognition, perception, and/or behavior
- Research utilizing or advanced through EEG and/or TMS methods
- Commitment to engaging, inclusive learning environments
- Ability to mentor undergraduate students
Preferred
- At least one year postdoctoral work
- Evidence of engaging, inclusive teaching
- Evidence of peer-reviewed scholarship
